English Wednesday Brouci 9.5.
English lesson update Katerina´s group:
Věnovali jsme se slovní zásobě a slovesům o zvířatech.
English lesson update Milena´s group:
In the first block, we practiced recently learned words “in the classroom” and then kids took a test focused on the verb “to be” (present tense). Kids were also asked to replace the pronouns with proper nouns in the test (singular and plural). This was the only area that proved to be a bit confusing for the kids so we worked on this a little bit more. We also added some new words describing classroom objects such as ruler, scissors, glue, paper, chalk, chalkboard, whiteboard, pen, pencil, pencil case, eraser/rubber, paintbrush, paints, cloakroom, sharpener, marker, folder, printer and their use/functions. Kids wrote the words down, read it couple of times and practiced their use in sentences.
In the second block, we practiced new words by doing quizzes and riddles “What am I?”. Kids also worked with pictures and were asked to answer questions “What is it/are they? What is it/are they called? What do we use it/them for? What does it/do they do? Do you have one/any at home?”. Kids also practiced verbs they know – we focused on correct writing and correct use in sentences. Kids did a lot of good work.
In the third block, both groups (mine and Katerina’s) joined together and we all played a game “pronoun parade” where kids replaced nouns with pronouns in sentences. It is a fun and easy way for kids to learn the use of pronouns he, she and they. Kids performed certain activity (playing, climbing, swimming, eating, walking, running, sleeping, etc.) and others guessed by describing: “Hynek is driving a car. Who is driving? He is driving. Cecilka is walking. Who is walking? She is walking. Hynek and Cecilka are walking. Who is walking? They are walking….”. It was fun and you can easily practice this activity at home.
Za Kateřiny skupinu přidávám překlad třetího bloku:
Ve třetím bloku jsme se sloučili s Kateřiny skupinou dohromady a formou hry (Pronoun parade) děti nahrazovaly ve větách podstatná jména zájmeny. Je to jednoduchý a zábavný způsob, jak se děti naučí používat zájmena on, ona a oni. Děti ve skupinách zahrály určitou aktivitu (hraní, lezení, plavání, jezení, chození, běhání, spaní a jiné) a ostatní děti hádaly a popisovaly, co vidí pomocí výrazů: „Hynek is driving a car. Who is driving? He is driving. Cecilka is walking. Who is walking? She is walking. Hynek and Cecilka are walking? Who is walking? They are walking….“. Byla to zábava a zároveň je to jednoduchá aktivita, kterou můžete s dětmi procvičovat i doma.
